The weather in Texas is about to go from 65 to 25 like it saw a state trooper on Highway 281 in some small town…

You don’t have much time left to prepare if this cold front snuck up on you, but there are things you can do.

Here’s a quick list of three items that are always great to check, no matter the time of year.

Trim dangerous branches

Limbs are more likely to break and fall during the winter. Winds, ice, and the fact limbs have less sap in winter make them more likely to fall.

If you have tree branches hanging over your roof, take them down today. Insurance companies are also increasingly denying new policies for homes with overhanging limbs, so you’re killing two birds.

Clean those gutters

The chances are still uncertain, but we might have our first ice and freezing rain of the season late next week.

If water from ice and snow melt can’t exit the gutters fast enough, it creates an ice dam, and that water will back up and leak into your home. You can prevent this with a quick cleaning today.

Inspect for damage

When’s the last time you walked the perimeter of your home and really checked the roof’s condition? Today’s the best day to do it!

If you notice shingles missing or other signs of damage, there’s still time for a member of our team to check it out and tarp it before the wind and precipitation arrive. An ounce of prevention…

Just reach out and we’ll come check it out.
